Help, The Triggerfish Keep Nipping At My Testicles!!  Sept 26-28

Crew- The boss man went out shopping for the Jolly Rogers 3 , so he busted out the keys of the shiny new Buick to the illustrious Free shaft, and the dubious Dive4Blood this weekend.

Guests- Spearboard members Hunt4PinkOctober, poorshot, Monster, JAXREEFSOUNDER, and esteemed NE Florida shooter Val Thomas.

Sea Conditions- Outstanding vis of 80'-100' all weekend with very blue, clean water. At one point we could see the dark outline of the ledge from the boat on Saturday. Current was ripping at times as was expected with the new moon. Seas never rose above 1'-2' foot the whole weekend despite the ominous NOAA Sunday forecast. These guys stink, they're useless! They couldn't score in a monkey whorehouse with a bag full of bananas.

Diving/Fishing- Did I not get the memo? Was the 2003 International Triggerfish Convention held in the Florida Middlegrounds this weekend? Every spot was swarming thicker than buzzards on interstate road kill with these bucktoothed monsters. Oh well, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I spent the last couple of minutes of each dive topping off my stringer with a half dozen or so of those 3-5 pound (BIG for the MG!) manhole covers before heading to the surface. On numerous occasions I had the displeasure of almost reenacting my vasectomy while stringing them up. Along with the usual summer mangos, hogfish, red grouper, and scarce gags, three of the five guys scored their personal best "blacksnouter" male hogfish ranging from 16 to 18 pounds. The crew also made Jim Zurbrick happy by putting some nice hoops over the rail as well.
Hook and lining was outstanding. Lots of elbow room as Hunt4Pink, and the crew were the only ones that dropped a line for any length of time either night. Thirty to forty snapper caught each evening along with numerous 15-20 pound kingfish that were just tearing up the live goggle eyes we were sabiki-ing.

Another good trip, all guests arrived at the dock happy (which is the number one priority), and plans are in the work to make a return visit. The guys (crew politely declined participation) had a big fish calcutta, and here are the results:
